After an injury a familiar home often turns into an obstacle: a threshold you cannot cross, a doorway a wheelchair will not fit through, a bathtub you cannot transfer into.
Much of it can be fixed without renovation — by moving the furniture, changing the height of the bed, removing a threshold. We look at your home together with you and tell you where to start.

A flat someone has lived in for twenty years can become the most inconvenient place in their life after an injury. A two-centimetre threshold stops you as reliably as a flight of stairs. A 70-centimetre doorway will not let a wheelchair through. The bathtub used every day suddenly becomes unreachable.
Yet most of these obstacles are removed by a decision rather than by renovation. Change the height of the bed, turn the desk towards the window, take out a threshold, replace a door with a sliding one, move the shelves lower — and the day stops being a struggle with your own home.
We look at your home together with you: you describe what gets in the way and send a few photos, then comes a conversation with a specialist, with an occupational therapist where needed. What you get is not general advice but a list of specific changes with measurements, split into what you can do yourself this week, what needs a handyman, and what should be planned for later.
We advise both people with spinal cord injuries and their families, and facilities adapting their space for patients. Renovation and materials remain with the owner: we do not build and do not sell equipment — our part is working out what exactly to change.
The consultation is free of charge.
Only a few questions are required — the rest help us come prepared rather than start from scratch. Describe what you can; photos of the rooms can be sent by messenger after you apply.
